Welcome to Keller Elementary School!

My name is Stacy Brisben and I am honored to be the Principal at Keller. Keller is located in School District 11 in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Colorado Springs was founded in 1871 by General William Jackson Palmer and has grown to 492,000 residents in 2023. Keller Elementary School opened in 1971 and currently has 382 students in Preschool to 5th grade.

My journey to Keller has been filled with many adventures. I have been in education for 28 years. I have had the opportunity to open two buildings in D11 (Jenkins Middle School and Galileo School of Math and Science). I was in the classroom for 15 years where I taught math, science, social studies, and language arts in Germany and School District 11. My roles in education include, a math coach, Literacy Resource Teacher (LRT), Gifted and Talented Coordinator (GT), and Curriculum Coordinator. My administration experience began in 2008 and I have loved every minute of it.

My greatest joy is my family. I have been married for 29 years to my husband Todd. He is retired from the military and works as a government civilian. We have a son Blake and a daughter Brooke that we are so proud of. Blake and Brooke are both attending college. Blake is studying to be a Computer Scientist and Brooke is studying to be a Criminal Behavioralist. Our puppy Ginger keeps us active and the axolotls at school and home keep us busy.

I have been at Keller for 8 years. I have been a part of a staff and community that truly believes that all children can learn. The Keller staff is very talented in many areas, and it shows in their love to educate the whole child. Keller focuses on what each child needs and does what is necessary to help every child. We are a clinical dyslexia site, offer Take Flight therapy, and a STEAM Academy. We also offer AirTutoring (math tutoring) during the school day, Sage Math Tutoring afterschool, and the Children’s Literacy Center tutors our students afterschool in reading. We have many families that have had multiple generations attend Keller. Families chose to attend Keller and we currently have 46% of our students permit into Keller. We believe we are here to be a part of the family support system for the children.

If you have any questions or would like to swing by for a visit, please contact us. We would love to meet with you and show you how wonderful Keller’s community can enrich your family. You can meet our axolotl family.

See you soon,

Stacy J. Brisben
